Samuel Barlow Coal Co. Ltd motor boat Neptune and butty Lucy leave one of the Marsworth locks breasted up in the final years of the company’s coal carrying activities. They were carrying coal either to one of Barlow’s own customers or under subcontract to British Waterways to one of John Dickinson & Co. Ltd’s paper mills. At this time they were captained by William Humphris.
