In the 1901 Census William Thomas Nurser was living at the Wharf but by 1909 Eastwood on the Old Road seems to have been in his possession. Interestingly, additional land adjacent to the house seems to have been purchased in 1909 by his second wife, Charlotte Frances Phillips whom he had married in 1899. It was still legally under her name in 1911.
